We believe being Christian is more than just a name.

2016 tomato planning horizIn our daily lives we seek to follow the way and teachings of Jesus Christ, making a difference in our homes and schools, at work and in the world.  We offer you the chance to give of yourself and believe that in serving each other we all will find life, and life it more abundantly.

One example is having our youth and adults plant and tend tomatoes each summer, to provide fresh veggies at Project Hope food bank.  Project Hope, Stillwater County’s food bank, was started by one of our members in 2001.  In addition to donating food to the food bank through the church, our church Easter breakfast preparersbudgets money for Project Hope each year and our newsletter keeps our members updated about special needs of the food bank like family dinner boxes and the week-end meals Backpack Program.   Many members choose to volunteer their time and talents at the thrift shop and antique stores that support Project Hope.

Columbus Community Congregational offers Mission & Outreach Opportunities from Special K Ranch to overseas missions, a community Vacation Bible School conducted jointly with St. James Lutheran Church, participates in weekly farmer’s markets along Pike Avenue in downtown Columbus and travels for an annual work trip to the Denver Rescue Mission in Colorado which enables many of our younger members to participate in hands-on mission work.

100_1555We are an active and outgoing church.  We enjoy regular outdoor trips and hikes to experience God’s majesty first-hand.  In our church’s avid support of Camp Mimanagishthe summer camp of the United Church of Christ in Montana, we have been called “The Little Church that Could.”   In the midst of the beauty of God’s creation, children and youth from across the state join to learn, sing, pray, play and fellowship together under the leadership of a highly qualified staff. Contact the church office for more information!

Our Mission is to worship God; preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, celebrate the Sacraments; share fellowship and unity within our church family and with the wider Church; render loving service to all humanity, and strive for righteousness, Justice and Peace.
